Hi to everyone.

I own (with my wife) a photography studio in the centre of Durham and we have now decided to offer framing too.
Look forward to picking lots of brains on the forum.

Brian,

Welcome to the TFF :)

Masses of info on here for a newbie

One suggestion - " Go get some training" before you buy equipment. The training is not a cost - its an investment

There are some listed on the left under Tuition.

If you PM me I will happily post some old Art Business Today mags to you. Then consider taking out a subscription.

Thanks for the welcome messages, and Keith I intend to learn from the bottom up.

I do realise that being let loose with someones treasured posession is a no-no until I know what I am doing with it.
I have looked with interest at various bad framing practices etc but still need to learn to differenciate between the good the bad and the ugly.

Hi and Welcome Brian. :D

The main thing to consider when framing something that is irreplaceable:

You should be able to take the item out of the frame and never be able to tell it had ever been in. :D
