Re: Overkill!
I'm guessing from Lion
Do you know if the blades they sell are genuine Valiani?

Re: Overkill!
Lion deliver on their own van and wouldn't use that much packaging anyway. This is Simons - these are the real McCoy but I think both Lion & Simons sell a cheap copy.

Re: Overkill!
Hello all and happy New Year,
I'm sure Robbo's only being mischievous, but just in case...... we don't sell cheap copies, and we most definitely would never sell a copy of branded product passed off as an original.
The only Valiani blades we sell are genuine ones made by Valiani.
We do sell very many alternatives to established branded products, but where we do this it's always made very clear what we are selling.
Cheers,
Lee

Re: Overkill!
Lee - thanks for that information I will pass it on the the person who told me otherwise. I have to say I was suspicious and have always been satisfied with the blades from Lion which I have bought direct from yourselves and via Tawnycraft.
Re: Overkill!
I didn't mean cheap and nasty copy just a copy that costs less - like personna blades vv keencut etc.
I thought that's why there were two prices in the Lion catalogue with no explanation - it says they fit 'all valiani mount cutters' but one must be for CMCs and one for other Valiani cutters?? Refs are L100 & L100L.
Can't find a cheaper alternative in the Simons combined machinerycatalogue/price list now either, but I know there was one in the old machinery catalogue.

Re: Overkill!
Under the circumstances, Roboframer, wouldn’t an apology for your misunderstanding sit better than a vain attempt at self-justification?

Re: Overkill!
It might have done but it's too late now isn't it! People might wonder if the apology was genuine after being publicly prompted for it.
I'm just a tactless insensitive old Hector, but put in your position your post would have been a PM, which would have been more tactful.
I think Lee's main concern was the suggestion of his company hawking fakes around under a branded name - and I never suggested that! Oops, more self-justification

Unwise of you, Roboframer, to interpret the warning shot across your bows from the forum administrator as an invitation for debate and to see it as an opportunity to scold him for not being more tactful.
