Well I thought I'd be first to ask the question

I thought last year was quite good compared to the previous year so I'll be there on Sunday 5th wearing my red Hotpress Lanyard  See you there ?

If anyone wants a Hot Press red lanyard - for easy identification as an FF member - pop onto the Hot Press stand & grab one off me - I have thousands of them...

...They are great for swinging your keys around on too :giggle:

Hi All

I will be going but do not know what day to go. I am thinking of Sunday but I am concerned it may be a wee bit too busy that day.
What about the last day? Will all the exhibitors be too exhausted and raped of enthusiasm to give us the time of day, only interested in stripping and tearing down their stands? What do think, is there any day better than the others?
Is there bear, free food or a party planned?

Deepjoy

Apart from visiting Steve at hot press and getting a free red lanyard, there does not really seem to be much in the way of interest at the spring fair this year. My main supplier will not be there as it would appear is the case for many of the other moulding suppliers. Mind you, at a time like this you would think that a constant stream of moulding reps would be banging my door down in an effort to get my business, even suppliers who have had an invite to come and see me don't seem to want to make the effort!

Sunday will be busy but if you like crowds then it may appeal. I think Monday will be a good day as a lot of us close on that day and you will get time to speak to your chosen people.

If you on the last day it might be worth going into the other halls. A friend of mine picked up a set of solid wood garden furniture for next to nothing that was being displayed on a stand.

I don't believe it ...., snow on it's way and the drive up to the Spring Fair on Sunday is looking unlikely :(

It doesn't look too good Bagpuss,

I flew into Manchester yesterday and spent some time with family in Cheshire last night, and then drove down to Birmingham this morning. I'm sitting in my hotel now watching the TV where they are predicting 12-15cm of snow for most of England! Argggg! The salt trucks were out on the M6 and M40 already in preparation.

Well...as I am only about 2 miles from the NEC, I will be there at 10am presenting my first seminar regardless.

When I read your post John I felt a bit guilty ... you've travelled all that way ??! I'm a bit of a "Soft Southerner" so the slightest possibility of bad weather and I'll be found warming my hands by the fire, I hope your seminars goes well this week, if you don't get the numbers you were expecting at 10am tomorrow, don't take it personally
cheers,

Adam,

Don't feel guilty at all... I know that travel can go from extremes when it comes to road conditions in the UK..

Here's a view from my hotel window on the Coventry Rd not too far from the NEC...

I wonder what this will look like in 18 hours? :(

With the Spring Fair running into weather issues almost every other year, do you think the organizers could move it a little closer to Spring?

I've lost count the number of times it has snowed at the Spring Fair, in fact it would not be the Spring Fair if there was no snow! :giggle:

20 yrs I have been doing this show & we always see at least "a flake" - it is tradition"!!! However - up here on the "the moors" it is really snowing like a B*st*rd!!! My car is already 1/2 a mile down the hill - so a long walk in the morning - just to get there!!!

If you call by our stand & the dust sheets are still on - DO NOT TOUCH!!!

We have CCTV - sponsored by Valiani & Antons!!!

Catch my drift....

Glad you like it Adam

I'm looking for one with frosty the snowman just now...

It really is a bit more of a nightmare than usual - I have Hot Press guys flying in from Europe to help me out on the stand & I have to get to B/ham - to get them to the hotel - Bugga - as we say up North!!!
