A week or two ago a lady came in with an embroidery of a black dog. She didn't really have a preference for the frame. I was in the middle of an overdue tidy up of the shop at the time and there was kelter strewn all over the place. Amongst said kelter was a frame rim I made at least 15 years ago. One of my hand-finishing experiments. It was yellow with black on top. Not an unpleasant effect, but not one you would use everyday. I kept the frame just as a curiosity. I have been moving it about and tripping over it ever since I made it, but just couldn't bring myself to sling it.
Anyhow.... I showed the lady various framing options. She couldn't quite settle on what she wanted. Then she happened to spot the yellowy-black frame in a heap with a few other frames that have been kicking about. OMG thought I. I hope she doesn't like that one because I have no idea how I actually did the finish. But I plonked the frame on the embroidery and it didn't look too bad. What's more it was exactly the right size. The more I looked the more I liked the way it actually complimented the dog perfectly. So all I had to do was stretch the embroidery and assemble. She gets a nice frame and I find a good home for the frame.
A win-win situation.
Today I thought I would get the job done. Got the doggie out of the drawer. And went to get the frame.

I have one of those or at least a certificate to say we are members all nicely done with hand written calligraphy. Been meaning to frame it ever since we moved to the new premises 4 yrs ago.
Had some nice gold moulding and mountslip left over from a job the other day so thought I would get it out, frame it and display it on the wall.
talking of never tidying up, the other side of the coin is "putting things away somewhere safe".
sent off a keencut two-wheel cutter for some new eheels, and after it had gone, can we find the spare one we keep? what do you think :-/
