I've just picked up a Fletcher 7554 heavy duty plastic/glass cutter for a song. I think it's pretty old.
Does anyone have any info on these machines(or a manual would be even better). I'm new to this kind of cutter.
I'm presuming that parts for this are no longer available. Does it also work as a board cutter?
Any info much appreciated. Cheers,Johnny.

Re: Fletcher 7554 cutting machine, any info?
If I'm correct there were two fletcher wall mounted cutters before they made the 3100. These earlier machines never had any cutting wheels for MDF. There were three interchangable tool posts: One for cutting glass, one for cutting plastic glazing and one for cutting mountboard. I had one for a while and I bought an extra mountcutting tool post from Lion.
The mountboard cutting blades are quite expensive, so until a blade was no longer sharp enough, I used it to cut mountboard and after that I used it to cut MDF. Usually three passes was needed to cut 2mm MDF. Unfortunately the MDF got through the blades faster than blades became too blunt to cut mountboard.
I would not even think about cutting MDF with one of these, but instead I would use something easier to cut, such as CorriCor, or something else which is equally easy to cut. At the time Lion had a some spares and the blades for these machines.
