Wedges - Morso UP-M

I know that Cassese wedges will fit into the Morso. £13 per 8000. Because they were supplied with the machine and are delivering.
I Know that Minigraf wedges don't deliver. I've tried them, having had two full boxes, bought with my bench overhand press.
I know that Morso wedges are, compared with Cassese's, horrendously expensive. £20 per 3000

Does anyone know of any other wedge brands that will deliver on the Morso, at prices competitive with Cassese?
Or is it recommended to stick with the brand, whatever the cost?
At the moment my consumption figures are insignificant, but ......

Looking in the Lion catalogue there are a couple of charts showing which underpinners will work with universal wedges, unfortunately Morso underpinners do not appear on either chart.

As far as I know, most underpinner manufacturers warn against using any wedges other than their own and never specify exactly what will happen if you do.

You could buy one pack of Morso wedges and carefully compare them with the cassesse wedges you are already using to see if they are identical, or not.

Beyond that no one can advise you and if you choose to use the cassesse wedges, then it would be against the manufacturers recommendations, but like you say Morso wedges are expensive!

I'm using the Cassese wedges because I inherited them when I picked up the machine.
They seem to be fine. But I will take your advice and buy a box of Morso & compare. A box of 3000 @ £20 will last a lifetime at the moment.
As I said, I'm considering the possibility that I may get some framing work in the future

I think this is mainly to do with warranties than any technical reason. If it's s/h machine of some age then this factor is irrelevant. (A bit like printer cartridges. ) A lot off manufacturers make more money on spares and ancillaries than the actual machines so of course they are going to issue dire warnings not to use generic stuff. I'd say if the cheaper wedges work, use them.

Cassese wedges work in the Morso underpinner, as do the uni wedges. I don't think you would see any difference using the original wedges, apart from the price, and the warranty.

The Cassese's work very well. Having graduated from an overhand Charnwood bench mounted press, which required that the strip of wedges was broken down into single items then positioned individually on the square rod, I can't get over how easy the Morso is.
It is utterly effortless. Though I did get one of my fingers under the profile press and immediately discovered how much pressure there is in the hydraulics. No injury - but it made me think - another lesson learned It stacks with ease. It really is as good as new.
And I have 8000 of both 7mm & 10mm wedges.
