I have had a picture frame on the wall for some time but now the top of the frame bows. When I take it off the wall I can see no obvious problem and the top is straight. What should I do to fix the problem? No experience here.

I am guessing here but if its a weighty frame, the nylon / wire would be pulling on the sides as it is hanging in an inward direction, resulting in the top bar being forced upwards and bowing. One solution might be to use strap hangers on each side and thereby eliminating the pull on the two sides.

Thanks for the reply. I have strap hangers now. Each has two study screws. Maybe I need a different sort?

Strap hangers attach directly to your wall fixing, don't use a cord or wire as you would normally for D-Rings.
I think this is what Vince was talking about and he is probably right.

I'm guessing here, but if the frame is plastic (as a lot are nowadays) and given that the climate down in Texas is quite warm, the frame will tend to get a bit pliable. You can stiffen it up quite a lot by fixing a thinnish strip of wood to the back.

If it is a wood frame, then it's a case of the moulding not being meaty enough to support the weight.

thanks, I will try attaching the wooden frame directly to the wall with wall straps.
If that does not work , I will take it to a frame shop.
