wavy mountboard

I've got some frames in to redo, and the mountboard is a little bit wavy. I know that prints can do that if movement is restricted, so is it similar with mounts? Should they have a small amount of space round edges to move?

I always make sure there is a gap of about 2 mm all round. I have had a wavy print back but never ( in 1 year, so not long) had a wavy board back. The mount board will shrink and contract depending on moisture levels (humidity) so I always leave a space.

The mount, glass, backing should all be cut the same size. Then you cut the frame and add 1-2mm for clearance. Do this and you'll never have any problems(machinery/tools all callibrated correctly obviously). :D
