Backing Board

It’s time to reorder backing board, unfortunately my previous supplier, Framing Essentials have closed. The board I was using was called 'Easycut' and was a solid brown (not corrugated like Art Back) I’d like to stick with Easy Cut if possible, does anyone know of this board and an alternative supplier? Wessex doesn’t seem to do the same stuff.

Thanks

I use Tawny Board Plus from Tawnycraft in Northampton. It is a Kraft paper covered board approx 2.5mm thick.

They also do Tawny Board Conservation with an inner lining of conservation grade white paper and the outer has water resist coating plus Tawny Board Economy which is a thinner version.

I am sure they deliver to your area and would guess they will send you a few samples.

Not sure it is "easy cut" but my Keencut wall mounted "maxi slasher" cuts it well.

I use a Wessex product called NuBord, 2.3mm grey board lined both sides with kraft paper. Cuts easy enough on an Ultimat Gold.

Arqadia do something similar 999118000 but I find it to be too bendy whereas the Wessex NuBord is flat.

Tawny Board is actually sold by a big name in the business under a different name.

The ones Arqadia sell look to be about the same but unless you buy a pallet load you are stuck with mount board sized boards (32"x44"). I do a lot of 20" x 16" stuff so getting five from a sheet makes much more sense than getting only four.

Johnny, I'm confused, do Arqadia sell a larger size if you buy a pallet full? Does it have a code?

Thanks

Arqadia now sell 48 x 36" in packs of 10 and there is no discount on pallet loads for some reason the lined water proof one is 32 x 44" in packs of 15, in anycase tawny carft is cheaper. by the way the minigragh 4 is working great , its found a good home :D :D

I also use NuBord from Wessex. Very easy to cut and reasonably priced.
