Help!.. Black mount board.. shiny marks

Just cut a double black mount on the 'Gold'. It was for a print 40" x 22" so was a bit unwieldily to say the least.... especially towards the last cut.
However, spinning it round when cutting I seem to have created some shiny marks...

they are not indents just the bed of the Gold has rubbed it.
any idea how to get rid of them? or am I looking at cutting again?
tried a rubber but it just dulled the MB
Thanks in advance...

A wipe with damp cloth will sometimes work.

Hi John
Thanks for the tip but sadly didn't work.
I did try 0000 wire wool.... and bingo worked a treat. Wiped after with a damp cloth to get rid of the residue.
A bit drastic but had to do something otherwise 2 more sheets!

I'll have to give that a go, I have A CMC but am quite handy at scuffing boards in many other ways! Why would it mean two new sheets if it failed though?
To prevent the problem in future, use a slip mat larger than the whole mount and turn slip mat and mount together, this is also a good idea for multi-apertures, prevents the fall outs moving/dangling about on the last cuts.

I had already glued them together so thats why 2 sheets...
Like the idea of a 'full size' slip mat... will give that a go myself next time.
cheers Robo

You can surely pull apart two pieces of freshly-stuck-together boards with no damage to the reveal of the bottom one?

I need to get some atg tape that's less sticky... The stuff I got sticks like sh*t.
Can you get repositional?
Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do :-)

I use PVA, which is like, totally, more sticky than any ATG tape going, but I also use just a few dabs of ATG tape that doesn't stick like sh*t - PH7-70 12mm ATG tape - just to hold things while the PVA goes off, which won't be while I'm cutting the thing! That's now, with a CMC and previous with an Ultimat Gerld (Sorry, brerk into a Hull accent there)
But even if I need to take the two boards apart a year later, the adhesive is not close enough to the reveal to worry about anyhow, doesn't really matter if I wreck the surface paper past that.
With a 3" wide double mount all adhesive will be no closer than 2" to the reveal.
PVA is faaaaaar cheaper than any double-sided tape and works better too.

That doesn't read like how it was meant to!
There will be no adhesive within an inch of the reveal.
