Hi,

Was wondering if anyone can help with this - using a morso, and alpha underpinned. The morso is cutting perfect 45 degrees, and when joining the frame I always join the frame with the longer side on the left, shorter on the right. The first 3 joins are always perfect, but completing the frame on the 4th join, I Am not getting a perfect join. This is the same for both wood and polcore mouldings. I have been using 2 v nails for each join.

Could the positioning of the v nails be causing this problem?

Any help will be appreciated.

it is 99% probable that iits your left hand gate on your morso that needs adjusting, is it open on the inner or outer edge ?

It seems that the join opens as the v nail is inserted.

which alpha are you using? In terms of where to put the pins in the alpha Manuel it says 1 near the inner edge and one near between the middle and the outer edge ( a bit closer to the middle though)

how close to the molding is the top clamp, on the alpha it should be fairly close, I usually set mine 1 to 2 cm away.

It's about 1cm away.

If it's only happening every 4th joint I don't see how it could be your underpinner.

What, in your opinion could the problem be.?

unless your pins are in upside down I can't think of any reason it should do that. mabee try giving it a clean and spray all the moving parts with some silicon spray .
even if it does not fix your problem it won't hurt . Are you using a 1M?

No, a 2M

so it has the front clamp also, like roboframer I don't think it is your underpinner

How do you know your morso is cutting perfect 45 degree angles? Say it is cutting 44.5 then the first three joins will be perfect but the forth will not. Has to be the left hand fence adjustment that is needed?

If it was the underpinner then it would be the same for all for corners.

back to my first post yes either the left hand gate needs adjusting or your molding isn't flat ( rebate clamps too high or to low ) or badly sharpened blades ( not hollow ground)

Further to previous answers - sounds like classic Morso-a-bit-off to me. Any errors in the angle are accumulating on the last join. Time for a slight left-hand fence tweak.
