Rebate lining tape

Post by CalicoFraming »

I've come across references to rebate lining before, but never used it myself.

Anyone have any tips? What sort of tape is suitable?

Many thanks

I use foil tape - either the Lineco one http://www.lionpic.co.uk/product/FRAME- ... 891,0.aspx or PEL's - http://www.preservationequipment.com/St ... aling-Tape which is cheaper for the same size roll and far more economical if you use a lot of it as it comes in larger rolls.

The same stuff is great for sealing the glass/mount/undermount 'sandwich' too.

I don't line rebates often, mainly for needlework with a spacer and no mount - another reason might be for some mouldings that have loose bits of foil in the rebate - I think the flumb pervert sponsors them. But I just paint those with diluted PVA.

Edit - found this on the PEL website whilst looking for the foil tape - not seen that before - looks useful!!

I like the watered down PVA tip, I will be stealing that one.
