I got this email through:

Dear Madam/Sir,

In order to have your company inserted in the World Trade Register's 2012/2013 edition, please print, complete and return the enclosed form to the following address:

World Trade Register
P.O. Box 3079
3502 GB Utrecht
The Netherlands

You can also scan and email the completed form at info@worldtraderegister.net

I had a look at the document, it looks legit enough so I thought I would have a read of the small print. Right in the middle was a note that the cost was EUR 995.

They must have made a fortune over the years

I remember getting the forms by post before the days of internet
Its so easy to sign as it looks "free"
I'm guessing they keep opening up using different names and addresses as there are plenty of companies who pay up.

I'm surprised the Dutch Gov cant close them down or at least sieze the bank account
