Re: Feedback on my website please (again)!

Hi Emma, I absolutely love the site. I do a little bit of web design when I'm not framing and it's impressed me. There is a slight issue in that since the contact form change, the site doesn't look right in chrome (I'm using linux). Firefox it's absolutely fine. I'm in Scotland but I'm not yet busy ...

wavy mountboard

I've got some frames in to redo, and the mountboard is a little bit wavy. I know that prints can do that if movement is restricted, so is it similar with mounts? Should they have a small amount of space round edges to move?

Re: Framing a football programme

Thanks for the replies. I've ordered some film from Lion and I'll follow Jim Miller's instructions and see what happens.
I'll post pictures if I remember!

Re: Framing a football programme

I think I'll have to give it a go!
Where's the best place to buy some if I'm just wanting a small amount to start with and probably won't be ordering any other stuff with it.
Thanks
Peter

Framing a football programme

I'm sure there'll be a topic on this somewhere so any links would be appreciated. I have a football programme in to frame which is from a special final, so it is thick, almost like a book. What are the options to frame it, the customer just wants the front showing? I guess I can frame and mount as a...

Re: canvas box

Cheers Prospero
Would you paint the inside black rather than the same colour as the rest of the frame?

canvas box

I have bought a few lengths of the canvas box from arqadia. My understanding is that the stretched canvas sits inside this box. Should the frame be a certain distance away from the canvas, or is it just a case of seeing what looks best? Also is it just fixed from the back with screws, or is there an...

Re: double frame

All done!
Stapled points and some glue was just the job. I might have a look at the point driver for future jobs.
Thanks to easypops, although I see you said that it in the first reply, but I managed to miss it.

Re: double frame

Aha, points stapled down. I thought there might be something simple that I couldn't think of.

Re: double frame

That seems like just the job, unfortunately I don't have enough time to get it for this job. I'll try glue and some canvas offsets see how I get on.

Re: double frame

The outer mount is more shallow than the inner mount by about 1 inch so I can't figure out how to pin it. Canvas offets look a possibility and I'm sure I have some in the box of tricks I inherited although there is nothing like that on the current one. I'm guessing I would glue it as well? I'll post...

double frame

Hi all, I've been given a frame with a football strip in it and I've been asked to create another similar one for a new strip. I've managed to match the frames and mount, but I'm wondering the best way to put it together. They have a small shallow moulding on the outside, then the glass, then a deep...

Re: Underpinner help

The rubber bit I have just now is not thick enough so is there someone that does a replacement big enough. I seem to remember my old cassesse had quite a bit rubber pad? Also I can't get it to stay on with glue as it keeps bending / flexing because of different profiles on the mouldings so just sepa...

Underpinner help

My underpinner rubber thing is causing me problems. It keeps popping off the magnet as I'm trying to pin, and I'm worried I end up damaging the wood. I keep glueing it but to no avail. Is it possible to buy a replacement, ideally one with the magnet inside the rubber?

Any suggestions on the best board to use for the undermount (for hinging artwork to), and where to buy it. (50 sheets?)

Re: Self Adhesive mountboard

Thanks Prospero, yep just a hand roller.
It doesn't seem to be still sticky under the bubbles as though the adhesive covering has come away from the board.
I have used it before for smaller items without any issues, but that was by far the biggest, and in the worst shape.
