Does your Wizard rattle?

When Sam installed the Wizard she only cut mounts fairly close to the bottom left corner of the machine.

I find that, once the cutting head gets more than about a foot from the original the machine rattles very loudly? The rattle seems to come from the right-hand top corner somewhere but I can't feel anything loose that might be causing it.

Is this normal?

is your wizard on a flat surface? only thing that i could think of would be the base isn't evenly sited on the ground.

It's mounted onto the Wizard stand - which is on level ground.

interesting, the only wizard i have seen in action in a workshop environment is Kev's, and he has his mounted flat on the desk, i certainly didn't hear it rattling when he was showing us it in action.

I suspect there's something loose - or not lying flat onto the stand. It's a case of finding exactly what's making the noise - just hoped other Wizard owners might have found, and fixed, a similar rattle.

might be:
on the gantry, under the removable black cover at the other end to the motor, (the "home" end) there are two spare allen bolts, loosely (partially) screwed in.

If they have washers with them, the washers might be rattling ??

Sam talked me through a procedure that might solve the problem - it seems to be the strap clamp that's rattling.

Unfortunately, I can't find an Allen key to fit. I must have one as they bolt in question is the same size as the packaging bolts I removed when setting it up...

Will be an Imperial rather than metric key. The Americans still use the old fashioned sizes. Hope that helps

I guess you're right there - all the keys I could find just wouldn't fit.

The annoying this is that I must have had a key of the right size in order to remove the packaging bolts. At the moment the workshop is knee-deep in mountboard offcuts so I think I'll devote part of today to having a tidy up.
