My framing tutor reckoned he'd tried most of the hand glass cutters on the market and said that the best was a Toyo TC-17 oil filled - available from Lion.
To keep it working well put some kitchen paper or blotting paper in a jam jar, wet it with cutting oil and keep the cutter in that.
I've also tried one of these glass cutters (http://www.clubframeco.com/finishing_tools.html) - they're surprisingly easy to usse and some people who have difficulty with a normal cutter get on well with them.
I notice that the FrameCo web site no longer mentions the inventor's description of them being so easy to use that even a woman could cut glass with them. Mind you, he was an Australian so that probably explains a lot.
I use the Frame Co Easy Glass cutter, found it very easy to use, especially if you have to stretch to make a long cut in a 48" x 36" sheet as the wheel stays at the right angle, Lion sell them. Not had a duff cut yet but some exciting moments carrying a full sized sheet! Just got a second hand Fletcher Terry wall cutter so once I find a wall life will be even easier
