Wondered if anybody out there could offer any pearls of wisdom when it comes to framing books.
I have framed plenty of football programmes, not a problem! However this is an annual so it is fairly heavy. The front two paged are signed so these need to be on display.
The problem I am having is due to the weight the pages keep falling forward ... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
P.S What a great forum I can't beleive that I have only just discovered it !!

Hi Waspy, welcome to the forum.
I've never had to do a heavy book so I'm looking forward to the answers that you get to this query.

we have framed some annuals for collectors. when they are to be mounted we usually make up a box out of suitably wide slip (PAR) and hot melt it onto the back of the mount, 2 to 5mm out from the window, seal this internally with acid free tape, then use foamcore or artbak with a liner and point-fix it into the slip.
then a matching slip round the outside of the mount to brace it in the frame and keep it rigid.
Usually works quite well. You just have to wing it a bit as each one can be different.
