DJ Simons Brochure

Post by Bagel Framer »

Hi,

Is anyone in possession of the latest DJ Simons Moulding catalogue and if so, what is it please?

Any advances on Spring 2011 that I have at home?

I often ask them for the latest catalogue but it's never forthcoming and their website refers to 2004 being new, so enough said perhaps!

Thanks,

Sean

They really are an odd company :) - very nice/pleasant/helpful and all the rest, but the little things, like asking for something sample or a catalogue normally takes ages to get sorted. I had to wait months for the 'latest' catalogue.

I find them to be very helpful, samples come quick, never anything too much trouble, the rep, is very good at dropping off any catalogues I need.

They send me 12" samples, two per reference so's I can make corner samples, which is very generous, but being an ungrateful git Arqadia and Nielsen win me over by providing - and sometimes free - reverse-mitred chevron sets for all the ranges they do; all pre-labelled and with velcro dots backed up with staples.

Jammy sod. Arqadia have just charged me £17 for two chevron sets. Time for (another) moan

I'll re-phrase .... Nielsen always free, Arqadia depends, Larson Juhl sets free with a spend of fifty quid from the range, the rest you mostly have to pay for. Still, chevron sets is what I want, not some rep saying if I buy a pack of each whatever he'll give 'a bit of a discount' for having to make samples myself.

Nope - want samples, not stock.

Nielsen recently started doing plain woods, just oak and ash for now, which is fine as that's what I like; off the top of my head there's about 8 profiles in each. They sent me a set of chevrons, all velcroed and labelled, FOC, very nice, thank you!

But the thing is they never go out like that, unfinished, even just neutral waxed they'll look different. I only neutral wax or lime oak, but ash I finish in about 8 different ways, so really I need another set of oak chevrons and another 7 sets of ash chevrons. Spoke to rep, no problem.

Top that!

Sounds like my Arqadia rep, when they did arrive, they were not the ones I had asked for, last time I saw him was the last time they were at the Spring Fair

Our arqadia rep, is extremely reliable, we get samples requested within days of his visit. I guess we see him every 2 - 3 months. Very good company to do business with.
