is you broadband a bit slow? We just upgraded at home to fibre optic, and on a speed test got a whopping 85 meg download and 25 upload, so checked at work got 2 and 0.5, rung my supplier, for no extra cost ( well £1.50 a month more) I now get the same there, this got me wondering what's the fastest bb on earth? BT have just made the fastest ever connection from Suffolk to the bt tower at 14 terra bits per second thats 44 hd movies in less than 1 second.
and I thought mine was quick..

A lot of the time it is down to infrastructure. Most homes, although fibre, still has copper cabling from the door to the green box.
Completely bottle necking your speeds.
The arrival of 4G should alleviate the issues with rural communities but won't match those with fibre to the door.
I know Virgin media is about supercharge their connections for additional cost.
Was only a year back they doubled their customers speeds for free.

one of my shops is on virgin media and to be honest right now by comparison it is bobar. 18 m download 1m upload and quite a lot dearer.

this is a speed test off my mobile phone, which is smaller than most wireless cards, tis incredible.

That's just crazy speeds. I get around 3 Mbps which is adequate for most things including streaming video and music.
I'm not sure why you would need anything greater other than for large file transfers, but if you are not watching / listening at the same time there is no hurry for them.

Pramsay I have at least 10 devices using my broadband at home, it's rare my internet is not in use, I can stream Hd tv on my xbox whilst downloading movies on sky or games for the PC whilst my wife plays her virtual games and streams music or video, whilst my son streams angry birds video's, 3 meg connection would just not cut it at all.
Similar situation at work although not the same things, we have large files been sent from customers to us often, files transferred between our shops, whilst being backed up to our cloud, fiber optic is the way forward.
