My advice would be to buy a model that is still in production and that has the best features. The more you spend, the more you get!

As you probably already know, Cassese machines have many features that are exclusive. From my experience with three other underpinners that were not Cassese, joints produced by Cassese are tighter.

First off all 3 have been discontinued by Cassese but a good pointer to the design age of the machines is the model number as Cassese always incorporate it into the number.
cs830 = 1983, cs910 = 1991 & cs276 = 1976
Very basic pros & cons
cs830, simple to operate but doesn't have a rebate clamp
cs910, newest of the models listed (although it was based on the cs810) - doesn't join hardwoods as well as other underpinners
cs276, No pros only cons - over complicated design, very very expensive to repair design is over 30 years old.

Better models to consider are Cs486, Cs3099 or the trusty Cs88 if you prefer foot operated machinery.
