Irma Stern oil - around 7 million ZAR - chose frame and owner left with painting - when stock arrived, phoned owner to bring painting, did the job immediately, - phoned owner to fetch and remove the work from my yard.... :sweating: :sweating:

my wedding photo. That is Priceless.
.... how many brownie points for that one, Sue? :D
Oh come on, someone had to say it first......

Money value: To the best of my knowledge a painting that was worth 44k when we re-mounted it in its frame and replaced the backing board for the customer in 1996 (local museum). didn't know what it was worth till afterwards, probably for the best..... I don't think our insurance came anywhere near covering it at the time.
I wonder how that bit of MDF is holding up......

A couple of Ted Jones originals about €7000 each never framed before. A Bill Griffin oil about €10000. Not too bad in my first year.

We have just had three bank notes in for framing:

first one is for 500 million dollars
the second one is for 100 billion dollars
and the third one is for 100 trillion dollars

got really excited until we noticed they were from Zimbabwe :Slap:

actual value - less than 5p for the lot of them!

Oh well, can't do a runner with them after all.

An Egon Scheile; obviously an original from condition but christies wouldn't authenticate it. maybe £half to 1 mil.
So just framed it nicely to highest conservation and customer now just enjoys it.

I had a customer bring me in a 50 billion dollar note (also from Zimbabwe), in fact he had a pocket full of them. I framed one for him and he gave me one to keep.

He has just been back in with his ticket to the World Cup Final to frame (face value 900 US dollars!)

When we were based in London we framed for many prestigious clients including national galleries and seriously wealthy individuals. I think literally billions of pounds worth of art must have passed through our workshop. I know for certain that one particular painting was valued at seven million.

Fortunately clients were always liable for the insurance costs!
