How often do you put the team bag in the mug, fill up with hot water and leave for a couple of minutes to "brew" only to walk off and get engrossed in something and remember when it is a horrid black colour and undrinkable? I just done it for the second time today

Tea like tar....
Wheres our little PG Monkey, no comments then...its all his fault thats why i drink more coffee.
Customers always turn up when you make a brew or decide to get something hot from the local bakery ands its always someone who is going to take a lot of time.
I have found using a travel mug great in the workshop, hot water in, leave it for about five minutes, tip it away then make a brew or coffee with more hot water, pop on the lid and its good almost for 3-4 hours so roll customers I can still get a hot cuppa, be it only a few sips at a time.
Better for safety as well as it has a good lid and avoid spilages, but always best to keep well away from your artworks.

It might be a "Steve" thing Steve - I do it a lot. Pop a brew in - go to make a quick phone call / check emails / browse the forum - whatever - the next thing you know - you have the world's strongest "stone cold brew". Solution - pour into a bigger mug & add fresh boiling water - add minimal milk & you have a massive pot of "warmish" strong tea!!!
Then again it could just be my age
Your too late I'm afraid - I retired in April 2024

We're coffee people, start the day with one (espresso) and we have a two-jug machine in the shop on the go all day, every day, but after an hour or so on the hotplates, it stews; until then it's nice and convenient and tea would stew quicker.
What we should do is make two jugs and pour them in to one of those big pump vacuum flasks.
Tea is a treat, I have 4 or 5 cups a week, always Darjeeling, the champagne of teas, and always loose leaf, but not from a teapot, I've got one of those cylindrical 'twizzler' things.
It's all bad for you though and from next week I'll be doing something I tried a few years ago for about 9 months - drinking nothing but water and at least 1.5 litres a day depending on the temperature and what you are doing, with the first mug hot.
Boring, but the weight falls off, you sleep better .... much more, and there's more to it as well, like not drinking anything with a meal (that just dilutes your digestive acids and makes your body work harder) or up to half an hour before or an hour after a meal, and nothing to drink after an hour before going to bed.
Oh - and nothing to eat after about 8 pm - therefore nothing to drink after 9 pm - which also helps sleep as you won't be waking up at 3 am for a pee.
The body does different things at different times of the day and when it's at its lowest ebb it doesn't want to be digesting stuff slopping about in liquid.
Museum level living for me starting Monday, wish me luck because it really is boring!
Put tea bag in mug. Pour in boiling water. Leave for five hours. Remove tea bag and add sugar/milk as app. Put in microwave for 90 seconds. Leave to cool. Find mug the next day and drink it.
Hurrah!!! I'm not the only one then, worse still is thinking you made a cup of whatever, forgetting it then canonot find where you left it. That reminds me, I know I left my hammer around here somewhere.
